I was recently invited to come talk to English 9 students at my high school about sketchnotes. I love how the middle school and high school ELA teachers in my district have really embraced the concept of sketchnoting and want their students to learn more about it as a way of making their note-taking more meaningful. As always, it is so rewarding to see those students that instantly enjoy sketchnoting and create visual notes I could only dream of creating!

While following along with the presentation and video, I used the handout on the right. Students could take their own notes right on the sheet and use them as a reference as we worked through the material. After giving this presentation a couple of times, I really like this format as it allows students to follow along easily, but also allows them to have a quick reference guide for the future.

Below are some pictures I collected throughout my day in the classroom. It is always amazing to see student growth (throughout the hour) and their amazing creativity!
