I made a video to share with students during the last week of school to get them excited about the STEAM camp as well as register. If you are unable to view the video below, please click here.
As part of my own personal learning journey with Camp Legend, I created an "Educator Guide." This was my way of sharing the warm ups, books, daily STEAM challenges, and 6C alignment for any educator who might be interested. It has been helpful for me to look back on ONE list and easily choose from resources or videos that I would like to use again.
Diversity Breakdown of Books
I put the books that I used for Camp Legend in to Booksource to analyze the cultural responsiveness and diversity of the books used in Camp Legend. What I really liked about the breakdown that Booksource provided was that it listed three different categories for the analysis breakdown - Achievements (things you're already doing right), Suggestions (ways to improve your library), and Issues (items that need immediate attention). I felt that this was a great reflective tool for moving forward and including more diverse books that I use in STEAM class.

Final Thoughts...
Camp Legend also gave me a great platform to try activities out with students before jumping back into full on virtual learning. I learned so much about what works for them in learning online, what worked for me, and how to think outside the box myself for making a welcoming, creative, and supportive virtual learning environment.
