As I am preparing things for my first Glow Day, I started looking around my office and began to wonder which STEAM materials would also work under blacklight. I was able to borrow a black light from the awesome Kelly McGee (before I received my materials), as he is also the Director for theater productions at our high school. I set up a fancy little photo area in the corner of my office, hoping that no one would come in and send me flying to the ground. A locked door worked well for preventing this! :) As I was testing materials, I decided to take pictures to share with the teachers I am working with on this project so we can have a list at the ready of what works well and what doesn't (and what we already have available to use in the district). Please note, these findings are not a reflection of the actual product, just how they react under a black light. I use these materials all the time for STEAM activities! I created a Google Sheet with all the information that is found below as well as links to the items. If you would like to view the Google Sheet version, click here. Otherwise, feel free to check out my pictures, findings, and reflections below! |
