Yay! Day 1 is finally here! Although data might not be the most exciting of topics for people, it is everywhere in education and is a powerful driving force. As we kick off the 2013 12 Days of EdTech Cheer, I thought I would collect some data about you, the amazing educators that make student learning and success happen each day. I also would like to share a little bit of data about the 2013 12 Days of EdTech Cheer with you. |

Resources Used Today
Google Spreadsheets I used Google Spreadsheets to create the charts for the correlation frameworks. I chose to use this because Google Spreadsheets allows me to easily share a spreadsheet with an audience without having to worry about people having the same software as me (such as Excel). I used formulas to calculate the occurrences and conditional formatting to change the color of the cell once I put a "x" in a cell. |
Google Forms I used Google Forms for my survey. I love Google Forms and they are always improving their product. One of the great things that I like about Google Forms is that when people complete a form, it places all responses in a Google Spreadsheet that is easy to read. I have recently been working more with using many of the capabilities of Spreadsheets to do calculations based on user responses (hint: you will see the results of the survey on Day 12) to make reading the data even easier. |
