About Learning Landscapes EDU
In the fall of 2017, I took a trip to Philadelphia, PA to meet with some awesome educators. During the visit, the concept of Learning Landscapes was brought up as part of a project that one of them was working on for a city project. I was intrigued with the concept and wanted to find a way to bring it back to the students and teachers in my district (on a smaller-scale). To read more about the concept of Learning Landscapes, feel free to check out this article.
In my exploration and adaptation of Learning Landscapes for use in the classroom, I wanted to focus on how Human Centered Design can support this process and putting our students and community at the center of learning opportunities. I hope to share what I have learned, experienced, and designed throughout my learning process with teachers and students. If you like what you see (and appreciate that everything I share here about Learning Landscapes EDU is FREE!), feel free to share your appreciation by supporting my DonorsChoose page or my Amazon Wish List. Everything goes right back into the hands of students! |

I often see things across the Internet that make me realize all the educational Learning Landscapes that are already out there. I try to save them here so that I have that gentle reminder that not every project needs to reinvent the wheel! Check out the ideas below or click here to view the idea board on Pinterest.
My Resources
I have been very fortunate to acquire a variety of materials through DonorsChoose projects, purchases by my district, and district EdFoundation grants to supplement personal purchases to make this project happen. If you are interested in seeing what I use with teachers and students for building and prototyping, I have compiled a list below. My goal is to have accessible resources on hand so that on-demand learning can take place and students have a variety of ways to show their thinking. This is basically a list of all the STEAM/Maker resources I have at my disposal and I use for a variety of projects (not just Learning Landscapes EDU). These resources are also checked out by teachers for classroom STEAM use, so I usually never have everything on hand at one time!

If you want to get started with creating your own Learning Landscapes resource library, I compiled a list of my favorite resources that would be great for getting started. To see my example of a Prototyping Starter Kit, please click here.
