Recently, I have been experimenting with drawing zentangles and doing some of the fancy adult coloring books that are popping up all over. I love how relaxing it can be to just kind of zone out and draw, doodle, and color. As Day 1 is all about district pride, I thought I would try out combining that with a zentangle.
As Godfrey-Lee (or maybe more specifically, Lee High School), is known as the Rebels, I decided to combine the Godfrey-Lee logo with the phase, "Rebel Pride." I will be the first to admit, I am not the best at drawing. On the flip side, I will proudly boast that I am awesome at tracing. With that in mind, I printed out two separate sheets - one with the Godfrey-Lee logo and one with the words "Rebel Pride" printed in block letters. Then I took a blank sheet of paper and traced these different printouts to make one design? Why not just get fancy with Photoshop or something else? I wanted to layer things in a certain way and it was much easier to do this with a quick tracing instead of playing around with Photoshop. I am a perfectionist in my own way, so this is how I did it. :)
After awhile of tracing and drawing, I was able to come up with this! A zentangled-design of some Rebel Pride. I am always a critic of my own work and if I were do do this again, I would do a more uniform design of the gold zentangles that fill the "Rebel Pride." Either way, it was good practice with me for creating zentangles!
And then put it on a shirt, and you now have a fancy shirt with a zentangle design!
