The day consisted of morning sessions that all teachers were required to attend. These sessions provided teachers with training for using RebelNet (a cloud portal provided through Stoneware), Google E-Mail, Google Docs and Google Calendar and presented by the Technology and Media Team. The sessions in the afternoon were presented by various teachers and administrators and consisted of topics, tools and resources that the presenters are using in their classrooms and daily work tasks. We received an over-whelming response from teachers who stated they enjoyed participating in a district professional development that was relevant and interesting. It will be exciting to see the new ideas and activities that unfold in classrooms across the district as teachers begin using many of the new tools they learned about at Rebel U.
If you are someone who provides professional development for a district, how do you integrate technology or are there specific technology professional development opportunities that you provide for teachers?
